The Thinker by Rodin, Courtesy of Wikipedia

The Thinker above, originally The Poet, is looking down at the gate to Hell in deep thought with pity. By some or all, the sculpture represents poet Dante Alighieri or his poetry, respectively (a work of French sculptor Auguste Rodin). The Vatican honors poet Dante Alighieri, considering him the father of the Italian language. An English-translated PDF of the Vatican website content is available at this first Mega link MEGAThe Vatican, Viaggiare con Dante.

The Lord Jesus Constantly Shares An Emotion With the Brokenhearted, Looking Down From a Distance at Loved Ones Not Loving Him

Courtesy of Giphy.com

First, let us all state and always remember: Lord Jesus, Sacred is Your Name, yes, truly it is and in many ways! A future article of mine will soon be sepecifically devoted to all of the Broad ramifications of this Extremely interesting topic, even bowing our heads upon the thought of the specific name, Jesus!

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, saves those whose spirit is crushed.” Psalm 34:18 [19], NABRE [19]. The Lord Jesus is close to the brokenhearted throughout life. He more than feels their pain, especially those that have looked at loved ones from a distance, not seeing or wanting them. He constantly looks down upon the World at loved ones that do not love Him.

A rare few reading this have experienced looking at loved ones from a distance, not seeing or wanting them, knowing it is not something to become accustomed to, an unusual hurt. The Lord Jesus shares and feels their pain with empathy, including His pain, with sympathetic compassion, perhaps life-saving.

There are many causes of brokenheartedness, with direct and indirect effects. I believe the Lord Jesus is close to all that suffer from it. E.g., longing for loved ones is one effect. It also affects us indirectly. A strengthened devotion can result, e.g., to God or a cross devotion to Him, but let us not forget something else, viz., a goal. The results can be impressive, even bizarre enough to say that God must have intervened. In God’s ways throughout life, perhaps subtlely in ways that we may never know, He helps the brokenhearted.

We should remember that God is close to the brokenhearted, and this constantly shared emotion, looking down upon the World at loved ones that do not love Him, With Compassionate Love For Him.

     May God bless you.

Sincerely in Christ, /L.S., Frank Lawrence, Sr./
